The Great Gatsby at Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Theatre

Why see The Great Gatsby?

Welcome to West Egg...

F. Scott Fitzgerald's quintessential American classic is adapted for the stage by Simon Levy. At the center of this tragic tale of misspent youth in the Roaring Jazz Age, is the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby, a near recluse with the expensive hobby of throwing lavish parties each weekend at his Long Island mansion. But there is a pain in the heart of the strange Gatsby, specifically the beautiful, vain and very married Daisy Buchanan, and he will stop at nothing to win her back.

Considered Fitzgerald's masterpiece, Gatsby has been an enigmatic and attractive piece for dramatists and film-makers ever since it was published, and lends itself wonderfully to the stage, as the nuances of each character are explored in luxurious detail and storytelling.
