Blue Man Group Las Vegas is the featured field trip for DIY Music week during the six-week Maker Camp program, a free DIY project-based camp for teens, hosted and produced by a partnership between Maker Media and Google. The virtual, behind-the-scenes tour of Blue Man Group's award-winning production will be today, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. PDT. Worldwide campers are encouraged to tune into the exclusive experience. To participate, guests must simply visit the Google Hangout-On-Air on the Make: Google+ page.
Make: magazine and Google created Maker Camp two years ago to inspire youth to use their skills and imagination to become inventors, designers and creators using music, science, technology, art and engineering. It delivers on this concept in a number of ways by: presenting themed weeks during the course of Maker Camp; visiting guest makers' studios; and going on virtual field trips to iconic company and organization headquarters, showcasing the creative makers who have been instrumental in forging their successful, world-renowned brands. Other companies that have participated in Maker Camp include Walt Disney Imagineering, National Geographic Society, Cartoon Network, Pixar and NASA.
Hosted by a team of Blue Man Group's performers and technicians, the exclusive Maker Camp tour will showcase how the customized instruments are created and played, the company's one-of-a-kind creative process and much more. Campers will be amazed by the unprecedented amount of backstage and behind-the-scenes access to the famous Las Vegas stage production. At the end, the team will take questions from campers, unveiling secrets about the mysterious world that characterizes Blue Man Group.
Blue Man Group has turbo-charged its show in Las Vegas with electrifying music, sensational technology, and innovative new ways of interacting with the audience. The mega-enhanced show at Monte Carlo is a thrilling, energy-infused performance that introduces wildly inventive musical instruments, a humorous look at robots and creativity, and a mind-blowing (literally) tour inside the neural network of the human brain. Each night the Blue Men present an extraordinary spectacle and create a soulful, primal and euphoric experience that makes you feel vibrantly alive and more closely connected with the people around you.

Maker Media is a global platform for connecting makers with each other, with products and services, and with our partners. Through media, events and ecommerce, Maker Media serves a growing community of makers who bring a DIY mindset to technology. Whether as hobbyists or professionals, makers are creative, resourceful and curious, developing projects that demonstrate how they can interact with the world around them. The launch of Make: magazine in 2005, followed by Maker Faire in 2006, jumpstarted a worldwide Maker Movement, which is transforming innovation, culture and education. Co-located in Sebastopol, CA and the East Bay, Maker Media is the publisher of Make:magazine and the producer of Maker Faire. It also develops "getting started" kits and books that are sold in its Maker Shed store as well as in retail channels.
